HOW TO BE BORN AGAIN

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. ........  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.   That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:3-6 AV)

that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” is the key to the rebirth. We were born a flesh creation, and our spirit is self oriented (sinful). There is a debt owed to God because of sin. Jesus paid that debt through His death and shed blood. God accepts that payment, but a new Spirit is needed to replace the old one that has been the motivator of the selfish, sinful life. Each person needs to be born again in Spirit. But why? It is totally necessary because God is Spirit, actually Holy Spirit, and if we are to be part with Him, our spirit must be Holy also, without sin. But, we cannot by any of our own effort cause our self to become Holy. God must do it for us by recreating us with a Spiritual rebirth by His Holy Spirit. All things are possible with God.

No person will desire to change because they fear change and enjoy their sin. However, since they are not “born again”, when God’s Holy Spirit of Truth impresses them that they are excluded from fellowship with Him because of their sin, and that they will not be among the Heaven-bound when physical death comes, it provides an open door of opportunity for salvation. This convincing truth will lead to a desire for redirection, or repentance, and a calling upon the name of the Lord (Jesus is Lord of all) for His Holy work of the Spiritual rebirth, and thus,  “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13 AV)

As you have read these portions of God’s Word, you may feel the Holy Spirit of God inviting you to salvation, to turn your old life over to Him and to receive your new, “born again” life needed to enter the kingdom of God and His Heaven at the end of your physical life.

If this is the case, call upon Jesus; confess to Him that you are a sinner; repent of your sin and ask Him to save you and enter into your heart and make you a new, Holy person, taking away your sin and your desire of it, and tell Him of your desire to serve Him henceforward.

If you have done this sincerely, you are already experiencing the relief of your fears and doubts that have burdened your heart and soul, and you are feeling an inner joy you have never known before; you are “born again” and assured of heaven and a good work to do here on earth as you wait for the Lord’s return for us all who are His, to meet Him at the calling out of His Church.

If you have not called upon the Lord or have not experienced this relief when you did, you are still in your sin. You have not fully submitted your life to Him, or you have not been sincere in your repentance from sin. Call upon the Holy Spirit to help you. He will speak to your heart showing you not to fear, only believe. Do not put this off; it is a matter of eternal life or damnation. Continue to call upon Him until you have fully submitted. You will be saved if you give it all to Him. He loves you, but will not have only a part of you; it is all or nothing at all. You cannot be saved in installments; you Must be “born again” in Spirit as when your mother bore you in flesh, all at once, not a part at a time. There is no such thing as gradual salvation.

The three Christian men who have written and edited this article have prayed that each person who received it would read and respond to it for their salvation. May God bless and save you for His glory and your joy and peace, Amen.                                 10/29/01
